"In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love

only what we understand; and we will understand only

Whittier, Alaska

A steady rain came in so we decided to take shelter and think for a while .. We’ve been out & about this summer but this feels like our first return back to nature since winter’s

This past winter too much of my time was spent indoors, in buildings, in houses, gyms,
universities, offices. All that I felt gained was a clouded mind and overwhelming anxiety.  The time was all well spent but it seems to have just flown past me. Almost as if time
unraveled quicker than before. Perhaps my time spent indoors, in buildings, made me lose the ability to live in the moment. The demand to constantly prepar...

It's an art. In the end, it's no different from any other art. A painter uses his brush, a chef uses his kitchen, just as a photographer uses his camera. Perhaps there are very mild advantages to having nicer equipment but it's important to not let that persuade you in doing what you do. If you're having trouble understanding this, here is a comparison from famous photographer, Sam Haskins;  A photographer went to a socialite party in New York. I'm constantly on the hunt for that desolate, blissful landscape but unfortunately seem to be limited to our planet Earth. No complaints really- planet earth is one of the most beautiful out there. But we haven't seen them all and may never. NASA is constantly on the move to continue space exploration and I am constantly in awe of some of the composite images they bring back to our current reality. Thousands upon thousands of photographs collected from five different telescopes are captured in time, then realigned. Thus creating some of the most mind boggling elegant composite images you'll ever see. Have a look, become inspir...

Help protect the #1 most beautiful National Monument in the United States. I was in constant awe after spending three weeks in this truly desolate and blissful land. It's hard to understand how the greed for money, growth, and economy can even be justified in a place like this. Grand Stair-case National Monument is the definition of beauty on the Desert. There is a lot more than meets the surface at this monument. Help protect and #gogetlost in it's canyons, rivers, and mountains. #dontpavetheroad
